The Zoom Story
Zoom Vineyards has been producing ultra-premium zinfandels for over 10 years in the North Coast wine region of California. With a reputation for “hedonistic” Zinfandels, Zoom has gathered numerous high ratings from the likes of Robert Parker, Wine Spectator and Wilfred Wong. From it’s special single-vineyard bottlings to it’s incredibly value priced ‘Lot 4’ blend, Zoom produces delicious Zinfandels for all to enjoy!
Now it gets exciting. Zoom is under the new ownership of Christian Hackshaw and Matthew Hughes.
Matt Hughes comes to Zoom from Verite , Kendall-Jackson’s ultra high-end winery in Sonoma. Matt’s skills and expertise as a winemaker are evidenced by the Gold medal he garnered in his first sauvignon blanc (produced for a private client) as well as the multiple offers he has to work at other well-known wineries. Matt has immediately jumped into Zoom by heading out into our selected vineyards, working with the winegrowers to produce the absolute best Zin fruit possible. Matt’s philosophy is that the wine is “made in the vineyard” which is why we can never find him, and he seems to have a permanent ‘red-dust’ tan!
Christian Hackshaw is an emergency physician-turned-winemaker who, together with his wife Beverly, founded Demeter Vineyard and Winery, also in Lake County. Christian brings to Zoom the energy, dedication and attention to detail he practices in his “other job”! Christian’s philosophy is that wine should always “bring a smile to your face”, meaning unpretentious, affordable and above all, delicious. We want our wines to be enjoyed!
